Ever since I can remember, I've been watching Yankees baseball. When I was a child and would stay overnight at my grandparent's house, we would head up to their upstairs sitting room, turn on their black/white TV and watch the game while eating a big box of Whoppers (still love that candy).
I remember them cheering on Bucky Dent and Willie Randolph and others. It was then that I became a huge fan.
I have to admit, in 1986 I was a big fan of the NY Mets, and it was a good year for them with their win of the World Series. I really celebrated that night, but didn't remain a fan because my heart was always with the Yankees.
In the early 1990's I didn't watch too much baseball, but when I moved out of my parent's house in 1998, I started to watch faithfully again. Rob is also a big Yankees fan, which is a good thing, because we can watch the games together and cheer on the same team. Nicholas even watches the games (on occasion), and Becca claps her hands during a game when we say, "Yea, Yankees."
Even though I am such a fan, I have only ever been to three Yankees games, and two of those games were at Camden Yards Stadium in Baltimore against the Orioles. The one game that I did see at Yankees Stadium was a game played during their final year at the old stadium. One of my dreams was to see a game at that stadium, and it happened during the summer of 2008. The last game there was played that year in September.
