a project 64 catch up ....

I sadly haven't participated in Project 64 in many, many weeks.  I decided to stop by their website today to see what what was going on.  They had posted their last color a few weeks ago and also kept a few of the previous week's links open too. 

I thought it would be fun to close out the project with them by taking pictures for the last color prompts they gave.

Week 59 - Color Reveal was TAN 

Week 60 - Color Reveal was CORNFLOWER 

Week 61 - Color Reveal was PEACH 

Week 62 - Color Reveal was GRANNY SMITH APPLE 

Week 63 - Color Reveal was VIOLET

february take twelve ...

I was so glad that February 12th fell on a weekend this month.  That just makes taking 12 photos for the Take 12 challenge that much more fun.  It is better than the days when I'm in the office all day and don't have very exciting things to take pictures of.

Here is a mosaic of the 12 pictures that I picked out.  I will be using these when I create my layout this month.

january instagram ...

Man, I have been slacking this week.  I just have had so much on my plate this week that I haven't had time to blog.  Well, that has to change.

I still don't have a whole lot of time today, but I wanted to do a quick post of my January instagram photos.  I actually went through all the pictures that I took in January, and only found three instagram photos.  I did take lots of iPhone pictures, but changed very few to instagram photos.

These are all of Rebecca ... no, she is not the only one I photograph.

 

 

Oh, and I'm so excited for this weekend.  I will be going to a crop on Saturday and will scrapbooking all day with my dear friend, Christine.  I'm all packed; I just need to type up and print some of my journaling.  When I go to crops, I usually hand write all of my journaling on my layouts, but there are a few layouts that I want to create and I want them to have journaling that is typed up.

You will have to watch out for all the layouts that I'm planning on creating.  I have LOTS of catching up to do.  I've only created layouts for Rebecca's album of her first three months of life, and she is already TWO.

take 12 challenge ...

I had fun yesterday taking photos for the Ella Publishing Take 12 Challenge.  It was nice that I was home yesterday, because I was able to capture more photos than if I were in the office.  Every month, I will be creating a layout (using one of the layout sketches from the Take 12 kit) with twelve of the pictures I captured that day.

There was a theme this week ... All About Food!

1. How do you like your chocolate?

And my answers:

1. I love ALL chocolate, but dark chocolate is my favorite.
2. I can never say no to cheesecake.
3. My favorite meal is roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, and a vegetable (usually corn).
4. Macaroni and cheese ... I know, a comfort food for many, but not me.  The traumatic experience I once had as a child has stayed in my mind.
5. Popcorn

365 +1 ...

In addition to the photo a day (about everyday life that I'm including in my Project Life album this year) that I am doing again this year, I am also participating in Capture Your 365 ... 365 + 1.  I participated in this last year (sort of) by taking pictures throughout the month from the month-long sheet of photo ideas that Katrina provides.  This year, I am waiting to get her daily emails with a photo prompt.  I think it will be more fun that way.  I'm also ONLY going to take the pictures for the prompts with my phone, so there may be prompts where it may be hard for me to follow the exact prompt (like today's prompt) in capturing the picture.

For example, today's prompt was to use a wide aperture on your camera.  I don't think I can do that on my phone (if I'm wrong, someone please let me know).  I took a picture of Rebecca and then did some fading within the picture.

I will be posting the pictures I take here (to the right), and will also be uploading the photos to an app on my iPhone called Photo365.  It is actually a cool app ... you place your picture within each individual calendar date.

I thought I had taken more pictures with my phone in November and converted the pictures to Instagram photos, but after downloading all of my photos, I realized this wasn't the case.  Here are some of my Instagram photos from November.

birthday celebration ...

Rob and Nicholas made me a yummy dark-chocolate cake with vanilla icing for my birthday yesterday.  It was a pretty quiet day ... we all hung out at home as a family and it was really nice.  We got take out for dinner because I wasn't going to cook, and what Rob had taken out to make wasn't thawed.  Any excuse to get take out, right?

Rob tried to get a picture of me and the kids, but the kids didn't want to cooperate and he didn't capture a great picture, but at least Rob was able to get something.

Still can't believe how fast the year went ... getting closer to the BIG 40.

Over at Project 64: Out of the Box, the color a few weeks ago was orange, and last week's color was black (sounds like Halloween).

it was a nice visit ...

Nanny and Poppy came out for a visit this past weekend.  They came in on Wednesday and left early Sunday morning.  It was a great time for them to visit because Nicholas was off from school on Thursday and Friday.

Nicholas spent a majority of the day with them on Thursday.  They took Nicholas to get a much-needed haircut, went to Walmart, and then went out for lunch.  On Saturday, they went into Frenchtown to Nicholas' favorite candy store Minette's Candies to get some sweets.  Nicholas even brought me home my favorite jelly beans ... popcorn flavored.

Rebecca is very attached to Nanny and Poppy too.  Even though we don't see them very often, she loves spending time with them when they are here.

As usual, I'm catching up on the Project 64: Out of the Box colors.  The color for the week of October 31 - November 6 was dandelion.

And my photo for this color is a photo of a fish Nicholas made a few years back.

And last week's color was purple mountains majesty.

And my photo for this color is of a clock that Rob and Nicholas made for Rebecca.  It now sits in her room.

she enjoyed the snow ...

The day after the big storm (btw ... we are still without power ... going on day six), we took Rebecca out in the snow.  It was her first time that she actually got to experience walking in it and touching it.  She had a blast.

She did not want to come in that day.

And since week's color over at Project 64: Out of the Box was turquoise, I thought Rebecca's pants were the perfect match.

he is enjoying school ...

There have been no complaints from Nicholas about school yet.  Granted, it has only been four days, but he hasn't given us a hard time about getting up in the morning (yet) and really likes his teacher.  I'm sure this will come as the weeks go on.  Right now, we are enjoying the calmness in the mornings.  I'm looking forward to back-to-school night in a few weeks and meeting his teacher.

CCD starts tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to Saturday mornings because Nicholas ALWAYS gives us a hard time about going there.  This is a big year for him - he will make his Holy Communion in the spring.  I just need to keep reminding him that it is only 1.5 hours long each week.

On to last week's color at Project 64: Out of the Box - the color was melon.

 
This week's color was very hard for me, but I managed to find a mini-scrapbook I created a few years ago.  I thought the color of the cover matched perfectly.
