Last week, we headed back home to NJ for a few days. The drive was uneventful (thank goodness); we drove through a downpour for about 20 minutes about halfway through our trip, but other than that, it was a peaceful seven-hour drive.
I could not wait to see my parents ... the kids were excited too. We arrived around 3pm; Rob headed off to see a friend and I went to the food store with mom and Becca. While at the store, I ran into a few people I knew, which was a nice surprise.
We did a lot of shopping with mom and the kids when in NJ. We had a barbeque on Friday and even lit off some fireworks for the kids to enjoy. We couldn't believe how cool the temperature was outside. We all needed a jacket (and pants if we had them) to stand outside to watch the fireworks display.
We had Jersey PIZZA for dinner one night. We were ALL looking forward to thin-crust pizza. You really can't find anything but pan pizza in Ohio.
I was able to spend a few hours visiting an old neighbor while enjoying an ice-cream sundae one evening. On the drive back to mom and dad's that night, I couldn't believe how many deer were crossing the roads I was driving on. That is another thing I rarely see in Ohio ... wildlife.
On Saturday evening, we met up with my best friend and her family for dinner. It was so nice to catch up for those few hours and enjoy their company.
Here are some pictures from our time in NJ.
Can't wait to go back!
