Nicholas will start fourth grade next week. Even though he has been out of school since May, this summer went by too fast.
We have all his supplies ready to bring with us tomorrow night for his open house. We are looking forward to seeing his new classroom and meeting his teacher. The teacher is new to the school, so she will be somewhat in the same boat as Nicholas. We went and checked out the class lists last week, and there are six 4th grades. He didn't recognize any of the names as someone that was in his class in April. He will just have to make some new friends.
Rebecca has achieved a BIG goal - she has started to consistently go on the potty. She even made me bring her to the store to buy her underwear. My big girl! Now she is asking if she can start school because she's a big girl.
I'm taking the next few days off so we can do some things together as a family. The weather has been cooler here these past few days (in the low to mid seventies) so I'm hoping the next few days will be the same, especially since we want to be outside.
A few weekends ago, the kids and I headed to a place called Sluggers and Putters with one of Nick's friends and his mom and sister. The kids had a blast. They played mini-golf, went on the bumper cars, and went in the arcade. It was a nice afternoon.
Here are some photos from the day.
