Nicholas was up bright and early this morning because he was excited that today was his first day of third grade ... WHAT!!! My little boy is growing up too fast. I can't wait to hear all about his first day, if he likes his teacher, who is in his class, just about everything.
When I was in the third grade, it was when my parents decided to move us to the "country." I was attending catholic school at the time and had to pick up and leave all my friends behind to venture to a new school. I was scared. I remember when I started in my new school, I got picked on, and didn't have many friends at first. A few of the kids were even mad because I was beginning to learn how to write in cursive in catholic school, and when I started attending my new school, the teacher thought it would be a good idea to start teaching my new classmates how to write in cursive.
Even though it was hard to make friends at first, my third grade teacher (in my new school) was the most favorite teacher I had during my elementary school years. Because of this, third grade was my favorite grade in school. I hope that third grade is Nicholas' favorite too!
Here are some photos taken before he left this morning (water droplets on his shirt from just getting his hair combed).
And one very excited sister (probably because she knows she is going to have the run of the house during the days now again).
Well, she was excited until she realized that she couldn't get on the school bus with him. She had a complete meltdown when he got out of the car and she couldn't go with him.
BTW - love the shirt that he picked out to wear today ... it says ... My Mom Rocks!
Congratulations sweet boy ... hope your first day of third grade was AWESOME!
