I attended a crop on Saturday and was able to get a few layouts done - I accomplished all that I wanted to get created. Here are some of my layouts.

Just a quick post to show my August 12 of 12 layout.

We didn't make it to Hershey today (because of the weather), and I felt really bad, so instead, my mom and I brought Nicholas to the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA. This was our first time there (they've only been there for several years now) and we had a good time. Nicholas had a GREAT time.
Nicholas is all about art, so this was right up his alley.
He got to paint (and make hand-prints) ...

Create with modeling magic clay, make a mobile, do some dancing, draw on a huge chalk board (on the ground), see so many crayons and markers (oh my). He had the time of his life and this definitely was a trip that I'm glad we made.
We also got to see the world's largest crayon ...
And the 100 billionth crayon, made especially by Mr. Rogers in 1996.
It was an unforgettable day, and Nicholas can't stop thanking me for bringing him there. Glad I was able to bring many smiles to his face today.

We love Hersheypark, and thanks to my father-in-law for giving us tickets, we are going tomorrow morning with friends, and Nicholas' buddy Tommy. Let's hope the weather is beautiful for us!
On Saturday I'm going to a local all-day crop. I'm looking forward to seeing some friends and getting some uninterrupted cropping time in. I'm almost done packing and I'm getting SO EXCITED for 10am on Saturday to get here.
Sunday will be a day at home to catch up on cleaning and to spend time together as a family.

Mom, Nicholas and I went into Frenchtown (the town that holds my zip code) over the weekend to walk around and look in the antiques stores (and the candy store). It turned out to be an afternoon that set my blood boiling (won't go into that), but before all **** broke lose, I was able to capture a few pictures (too bad all the cars were in the way).
Getting my haircut tonight --- how short will I go?
The weekend was beautiful in NJ (except for the little rain we had yesterday). I even had to put jeans on Friday evening since it was a bit cooler. Ran lots of errands on Saturday (including getting Nicholas' haircut which he desperately needed).

I've been watching this ...
during the past few nights and still haven't gotten through the whole thing yet because of interruptions. But, I love what I've seen so far --- lots of crying going on (by me). It is a very touching story. Maybe by the end of the weekend I'll be able to get to the end.
Ok, so I've been going back and forth on whether or not to get my hair completely chopped off again. I've reached the point where it's really driving me crazy, and gosh have I been seeing lots of gray come through. I've never had my hair colored or highlighted before, so if I decide to cut it, I will definitely have to go through one of those procedures because the gray will definitely be noticable with short hair.
Anyway, don't have any plans for this weekend (just cleaning). Hope all of you are doing something FUN!
When I got home yesterday, there was a piece of mail from the preschool that Nicholas will start to attend next month. It was a letter to invite the parents of new students to an orientation session before the first day of school.
Now, since I'm the one that goes to the office everyday and my husband gets to be "Mr. Mom" I didn't think the fact of Nicholas heading to school was going to affect me. After reading through the letter though, it occurred to me - my baby is going to school. Where did the years go?
I know, it's only preschool, but knowing that he will be in a completely different environment and with people he doesn't know, it struck a cord. I'm also kind of sad that I'm not going to be the one who will be bringing/picking him up from school, I won't be the first one to hear what went on during his time away from home. Kind of makes me jealous of those stay-at-home moms (and my husband for that matter).
I know it will get easier once he gets adjusted to the new environment, but just knowing he will not be safe and sound at home everyday hit me hard.
OK --- enough of rambling. I want to share two books with you that I just started reading.
Vanishing Acts - by Jodi Picoult
I didn't realize that she has written 15 books already. I've read a few of her other books and love her work.
The other book, I've paged through and can't wait to dedicate some time to getting some great ideas is one of Donna Downey's new books "Designing Layouts."
I love sketches, so this was a must have in my library.
